3D design house.

Ropes and chains.

Capturing patterns and how they interacted with each other was a great experience. The ropes were harder to add a sense of realism and depth towards, but I color shaded them to empathize the twists and overlaps.

Australian Museum Drawings - Week 4 - Group 2 - Visual Arts -

Australian Museum Drawings
Week 4
Group 2
Visual Arts

Australia museum animals, insects and dinosaurs.

Too much detail was my biggest fault in sketching. My day at the museum was slow, and I stayed back because of it. My sketches are very outlined, anime/cartoon style of drawing. I find it easier to recognize negative space and details before I see the overall shapes.

Spheres and cubes exercise pillow gesture and expression.

This gesture exercise was the most fun. It taught me that depending on how you draw an object, it can make the object feel as if it is expressing emotions. That facial expressions are not everything.

3D object shapes life pulled apart 1.

3D object shape pulled apart 2.

Working in Maya and using this drawing style worked hand in hand. The depth perception, curvature and surface of an object can be understood by just the rhythm of multiple lines.

Found objects 1 - tree seed.

Found objects 2 - aloe vera leaf.

I found recognizing the main shape of an object first before drawing details is very important. The more I creatively quick sketch, the better I will get at positioning the details.

Tone and texture sheet practice pencil.

Adding lined textures brought many drawings to life. But I believe it needs reasoning to give appealing value to the art. For example, mixing a scribble texture with a clear straight lined texture may not work as well.

Tone and texture practice pen and charcoal.

Perspective house sketch 1.

Three point perspective drawing.

Perspective drawing was difficult at the beginning, so I learned through copying the three point perspective examples online.
